The school

The East Mountains Martial Arts School comes from the dream of Professor Gustavo Monteiro. Gustavo was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. He has been a dedicated martial artist for more than 25 years, with experience in personal defense, boxing, kung-fu, MMA, and BJJ. He received his black belt in BJJ in 2012 under the Master Roberto Tozi / Roberto Godoi. He holds an IBJJF Black Belt certificate and an MBA in Business and Administration.

The academy was created to provide a location that integrates quality BJJ teaching and training with a comfortable learning environment that prioritizes the well-being of the whole family. Building on this commitment, G13BJJ East Mountains aims to value and unite our greatest treasures: health, mind, body and soul. Come in and enjoy the BJJ, destress with yoga, and make friends with others who also want to escape the rush of everyday life.

our core values

G13BJJ New Mexico was developed for the purpose of changing lives through the benefits of martial arts. People around the world engage in martial arts practice for a variety of reasons. This activity provides positive development of the individual's discipline and personality, while also enhancing socialization, self-awareness and leisure, as well as teaching the practitioner to defend himself from attacks without encouraging aggression. However, a strong motive that encourages the search for this activity is the improvement of health.

g13 Jiu-jitsu

Master Roberto Godoi is the founder and leader of G13 Jiu-Jitsu. Master Godoi started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 1988 under the late Master Marcelo Bhering, and continued his journey in the gentle art with the Master Waldomiro Perez Jr. until he gets his Brown Belt.

In 1996 Roberto Godoi received from the president of the Federaçao Paulista de Jiu-Jitsu FPJJ, Master Otavio de Almeida, the same year that he founded the extinct team Godoi-Macaco.

In 2001, he took his own path, and founded the Godoi Jiu-jitsu Club, a team that formed a huge number of athletes and professors.

In 2013 looking forward to the BJJ community, and for the best for his group, Godoi and his head instructors decided to unify all the schools and raise one flag the G13 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
